Polling day today! though its my first time voting, my initial excitement has somehow died down a little after the past few days/weeks.
not exactly sure but it could be due to all the social media happenings and all the drama and furor i've been seeing online. i mean its great that people (especially younger people) are getting into politics and having more discussions about it but i do wonder how much of it is actually constructive criticism and discourse or simply people following trends. i feel like people are arguing/pushing for causes without really having in depth knowledge about what their saying, and without even considering that there are so many gray areas in all the topics being discussed. like it really sucks seeing people being branded RACIST!!!1 when they are expressing a slightly different view than the majority (or at least the majority online). i sometimes question if these people are really aware of what they're fighting for or whether they just post their opinions to get positive reinforcement (like getting 50 likes on a tweet that says Lol does 'so and so's boots taste so good since you love licking them so much *crying emoji*).
Whatever.
It was a pretty ok day today, except i had somehow broke a cup a friend gifted me. It was a little sad but i guess such things happen. Other than that, spent the day rewatching unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. So it was pretty alright. some days im really quite thankful i have good colleagues/friends that make going to work less torturous and empty.
